PLEASE NOTE: I am
SOLD OUT of my normal inventory. I will sell 1pc from my personnal inventory if someone really needs it. I will test the IC in my Gottlieb Black Hole pinball before shipping, and guarantee that it works.
I've installed a "Zero Insertion Force" (ZIF) IC Socket on my sound board so that I can insert and remove each chip without causing
stress or damage to its legs. I GUARANTEE THIS PART TO BE TESTED 100% WORKING when I ship it to you.
Here are two WAV files of the speech this IC generates in my Black Hole pinball machine.
1) The main "Attract Mode" sound:
"Do You Dare To Enter The Black Hole"
2) Sounds and speech that occur when a ball is captured:
"Captured"

HC-55516
Continuously Variable Slope Delta (CSVD) Modulator/Demodulator. These are the high quality 14 pin ceramic DIP gold lead version made by Harris. There are two versions
of Williams speech boards used in conjuction with the sound board in System 6 and System 7 pinball games. One version of this speech board has the MC3417L and the other
version has the HC-55516. One of these two ICs will be found in games like Gorgar, Alien Poker, Blackout, Firepower, Jungle Lord and Pharoah.
There is some confusion as to the correct part number of this chip. The prefix stamped on the part can be read as CI-, HCI-, or HC1. However, the datasheet from the Harris
databook calls this part an HC-55516. The "-9" suffix indicates a commercial temperature range of -40C to +85C.

MCM6574
8K ROM Character Generator. 24 pin DIP made by Motorola. These are "clean socket pulls" in excellent condition and guaranteed to work. They were used in the Sol-20 computer motherboard, made by Processor Technology.
This was a revolutionary computer made in the mid 1970s. These chips are the video character generator ROM for the Sol-20 computer.
They are pre-programmed with the characters needed on the video output. They were also used on a separate S-100 PCB (also made by Processor Technology)
which is an add on card for early computers like the Altair that initially had no video output.

MFC-8040
Single channel, low noise audio pre-amp. 8 staggered pin DIP made by Motorola. There are four of these ICs inside the 8-Track player of a 1972 Midway's Haunted House Gun Game.
One pre-amp is used to amplify each of the four tape head audio tracks. The tracks are background sounds, the Witch, the Grave Robber (Monster), and the Cats.
Another collector has confirmed that these ICs were also used in other Midway games of the same era that have a "plain metal box" style of 8-Track tape player.
These games include Twin Pirate Gun, Dune Buggy, and Gangbusters.

MM5837N
White Noise Generator. 8 pin DIP made by National Semiconductor. These were very popular in all sorts of 1980s vintage audio circuits.
Not sure if they were used in any arcade games. I have these parts in two marking styles.
The first style is marked on the top of the IC as shown in the picture to the right. It says MM5837N on the top of the part.
These are getting very expensive for me to buy, so they are priced accordingly.
In addition to the correctly labeled parts, I also have MM5837N parts made by National Semiconductor, but marked with a different part number for a private company.
This company wanted their own "in-house" part number stamped on top of the IC.
In other words, these "Generic" IC chips are the same exact MM5837N parts that were made by National Semi,
but the private company paid National Semi to stamp a different part number on the top.
These generic parts are NOS, unused, and I guarantee them to be the exact same part. They will work anywhere you currently use an MM5837N.

solid state Bally pinball machines like Playboy, Star Trek, Harlem Globetrotters, Freedom, Night Rider, Power Play, Mata Hari, Evil Knievel, Eight Ball, Strikes
and Spares, Lost World, Six Million Dollar Man, Blackjack and Baby Pac Man. The MPU or CPU boards in these games have a part number of AS-2518-17, -33 or -133.
They are also used in Stern pinballs of the same era and Williams Defender.

QVE11233.0086
Opto Coupler / Opto Interrupter made for Bally and Williams. There part number is 5490-13451-00. These are the high sensitivity optos that are used in 1990s
era pinball machines. The optos inside the clock on Bally's Twilight Zone are one example of where these special part number optos must be used. This part has the
additional ".0086" suffix after the QVE11233, which means that it has a higher sensitivity compared to a regular 11233 without the suffix. Regular optos may not work
in 1990 Bally or Williams pinballs.

R6503 or SY6503A
Microprocessor, 28 pin DIP made by Rockwell. These ICs were used in early Gottlieb System 80 sound boards, for pinball machines like Spiderman, etc. The original
Rockwell chip works at a frequency of 1MHz. I am selling the 2MHz version of this CPU chip made by Synertek which is a direct replacement. It has the "ability" to run
at 2MHz but the actual clock speed is determined by the crystal on the PCB. Therefore, these chips will run at 1MHz when installed into your original pinball PCB.
Synertek was a major competitor to Rockwell back in the early 1980s.

TAA621A11
Power Audio Amplifier made by SGS Thomson. Used on Midway's Chopper (alien themed helicoper flying/shooting game) from the early 1970s. The Chopper schematic calls for LM354 Audio Amp ICs, but I have never found anyone who stocked this P/N, nor can I find a datasheet on the LM354. The TAA621A11 pinout does match the Chopper schematic and I've worked on several Chopper games, all use the TAA621 chip. These ICs are NOS unused parts but if you look closely at the picture, you will notice that the two rows of pins are staggered. You will have to straighten the legs (pins) back into a normal "Dual Inline Package" (DIP) in order to insert these into the Chopper's audio PCB. It's easy to straighten the pins with a needle-nose pliers. I have not broken a single leg yet.
